POWER TO THE PIXEL ANNOUNCES THE PIXEL LAB 2012
12 January 2012 (London)
The deadline for applications is 30 March 2012.
Now in its third year, Power to the Pixel brings its leading cross-media course, The Pixel Lab, to Potsdam, Germany from 1 – 7 July 2012. With support from the Media Programme of the European Union, federal funding body Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, TorinoFilmLab and UK skills and training body Skillset via its Film Skills Fund.
The Pixel Lab is a unique, project-focused business development course for European film and media professionals. Participants will develop the skills necessary to develop, finance and distribute cross-media stories, with a focus on future proofing project development, company growth and competitiveness in the international multi-platform marketplace.
Power to the Pixel will select up to 40 producers, storytellers, decision-makers and executives to attend an immersive six-day workshop from 1 – 7 July. Training is led by top business and creative innovators from the cross-media world.
Producers attending the Lab with a cross-media project receive distance mentoring over the summer (July – September) to help take their project to the next level. For the final section of the Lab, project producers will attend a four-day session in London, October 2012, running in tandem with Power to the Pixel’s annual Cross-Media Forum. During this last stage they will receive pitch presentation training, culminating in project presentations to select invited industry guests and an afternoon of business meetings with financiers and potential partners. One producer will be awarded The Pixel Lab Cash Prize, judged on the quality of their final day pitch.
