Kunstnerisk utvikler innen visuell kunst – Søknadsfrist 1. oktober, 2010.
BEK – Bergen senter for elektronisk kunst lyser herved ut en 50% stilling som kunstnerisk utvikler innen visuell kunst. Stillingen inngår i et tverrfaglig samarbeide med kunstnerisk utvikler innen lydkunst, FOU-koordinator, systemtekniker og vårt serverteam. Søker ansettes av og rapporterer til daglig leder, som har ansvaret for driften.
BEK kan tilby en pulserende arbeidsplass, hvor du utvikler egne kunstneriske prosjekter, gjerne i en internasjonal kontekst. I tillegg vil arbeidet bestå av å skape muligheter for eget og andres kunstneriske virke ved å initiere prosjekter, samt vurdere andres prosjekter relatert til BEKs aktivitet. Noe praktisk hjelp i våre produksjonsstudioer må påregnes.
Vi ønsker at du som søker har høyere kunstutdanning, og god kjennskap til det elektroniske kunstfeltet. Gjennom egenproduserte arbeider kjenner du til ulike måter å ta i bruk elektronisk billedbehandling, og har dertil også kjennskap til relaterte programvarer. Som del av BEKs faglige team må du være ryddig og utadvendt, ha gode samarbeidsevner og rede til å videreføre vår vektlegging på tverrfaglig samarbeid. God fremstillingsevne på norsk og engelsk vil bli vektlagt. Erfaring med produksjon og videreformidling er en fordel.

Urban Images: Re-imagining the City Through Moving Images

An International Symposium at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Norway.
The Urban Images symposium brings together an internationally renowned group of artists and scholars for a two-day program in order to discuss the field of artistic film and video related to architecture and urban space. The objective of the symposium is to expand theoretical concepts and artistic tools for understanding the inherent qualities of moving images and its relationship to urban culture. The program touches upon moving images’ influence on urban architecture, urban architecture’s relationship to avant-garde film, the city as a source for artistic film and video, and reflections on urban architecture in recent film and video art.
Considering the globally expanding urban developments and the increasingly fluid borders between research in architecture and moving images, this symposium presents important cross-disciplinary inquiries in the fields of architecture and visual practice. Bearing in mind Gilles Deleuze’s sensitivity to the ways in which contemporary culture is becoming fundamentally an audiovisual culture, the symposium will outline ontological and psychological relationships to moving images in the context of urban environment.
The following people will present their most recent research in this field: Parveen Adams, Giuliana Bruno, Bull.Miletic, Andreas Bunte, Beatriz Colomina, Mark Cousins, Edward Dimendberg, Tom Gunning, Henrik Gustafsson, Marit Paasche and Judy Radul.
The papers and artistic presentations from the symposium will be published in a book scheduled for release in early 2011.
