Litter Bundle for Jitter Preview

Berlin, Saturday, 16 July 2005.

The Litter Power package, the most comprehensive collection of random number generators and noise sources for the Max/MSP audio and MIDI processing environment, is now moving into the domain of video processing by introducing its first new externals for Jitter, including objects supporting light-weight video streaming.

The first objects of the "Litter Bundle for Jitter" (LBJ) were released today in a preview package.

The video streaming objects are based on experience with the BIX Control Protocol, used for the "Medienfassade" installed at the new Kunsthalle in Graz, Austria. This protocol has proven to be extremely robust and very fast. The protocol has been extended beyond the original 60x25 pixel limitation and now supports video images of up to 32,750 pixels.

All the new LBJ objects are available for both Windows and Mac OS. The Mac OS objects come in versions for both Mac OS X as well as Mac OS 8 and 9.

The preview of the Litter Bundle for Jitter includes the following objects

lbj.bixpack and lbj.bixunpack
Light-weight video streaming, based on the BIX Control Protocol and extended to larger image sizes
jit.bixcp.to and jit.bixcp.from
The original Jitter BIXCP objects, for Mac OS and Windows
lbj.shhh
A high-quality noise generator, optimized for very fast generation of RGBA data
lbj.stacey
